It’s hard to believe this World Race journey ends for me in less than a month. In processing the end of the Race and what comes next, the Lord revealed an opportunity for me to go to Romania through my teammate, Bree. 

Honestly, this was nowhere on my radar for my future. In March, my squad received the devastating news that we would be diverted from our route to Romania due to the proximity of war-torn Ukraine.  My heart broke. Tears were shed, and I couldn’t understand why God was keeping us from a place that needed the hope of the Gospel so desperately right now.  But God’s timing is perfect, far better than my own. 

As I started to think about this summer, I asked God, “Might I go to Romania this summer?  Please guide me with this gift of time following this World Race season.” 

The logistics of Romania were pretty simple. I have had money set aside in savings for years that the Lord has always asked me to hold onto for a specific time. It certainly is the Lord’s money and not my own and would cover some of my living expenses in Romania. Then the next day, I was on FaceTime with my parents, and my mom tells me that my tax return money has been calculated and it was the exact amount I needed for the flight to Romania!! Thank you, God! 

So, Lord willing, I will be spending five weeks this summer serving alongside Hope Church in Craiova, Romania! I will likely be working alongside and serving displaced refugees from Ukraine, but no matter what I do day-by-day, I know that Lord is with me to proclaim the Good News and the perfect peace found in Christ.  There’s nowhere I’d rather be.
