Wow, a whole week of being in Guatemala and the Lord has been so good. About halfway through my second week of spring break, I realized, wait, woah, this is like a trial run for the world race. What person gets to see what ministry is going to be like and visit the base where they will be living for three months before they actually start their journey? I guess I do 🙂

My short one-week trip to Guatemala has been filled with such encouraging experiences, new friends, and some really dope God stories.

First, I got to spend two days working with One Way Community in San Lorenzo, a village about thirty minutes outside of Antigua, Guatemala. One Way helps out with many different needs for the people of San Lorenzo. Food bags for families, school touring, art lessons for the kids, and helping the adults make a stable income to support growing families. I enjoyed working with One Way for two days this week and would love to work with them on my race some!!

The second ministry I worked with was Servant Harts Ministries. Wow, these are some good people. Servant Harts works with moms and newborn malnourished babies making sure the babies are gaining weight at a healthy rate and if they are not, providing the right medical help to ensure and healthy mom and baby. After my three short days with them, this ministry now has a special place in my heart. The babies of San Lorenzo are so beautiful and the mothers are learning to love Jesus more and more each day through weekly Bible studies and classes on Christian parenthood. The hearts of the women in San Lorenzo are being changed and God is doing amazing things. On Thursday of this week, we were able to build an entire house in one day for one of the moms (who is eighteen) who is in the Servant Harts program for her, her six-month-old baby, and her husband. By the end of the day, we were done building the house and were able to share the gospel with the mom and her husband, who both decided to accept Jesus and their Lord and Savior. Hallelujah, the angels are singing!

It’s been such a sweet experience to be in Guatemala this week and Lord willing, I can’t wait to come back with my squad and see what more the Lord can do in the hearts of the Guatemalan people. The Father above is so good to provide me with these sweet opportunities and I am so blown away by his provision and the way He allows His children to step into His kingdom work here on earth.

So, I know that was a lot, but I appreciate all of you who support me through prayers and also financially.

My last note is that I am over 50% fundraised!! Thanks to all of you, I have been so blessed by God’s economy through my fundraising journey. If you feel led, please share my story with your friends and family. If you have any questions about anything regarding my race or fundraising please feel free to me through email or a text 🙂
